Poor Izzy has not been feeling very well. Today we went to the Dr. He said that she has croup and "No Trick-or-Treating!". She wasn't even upset about it... That is how I know my Iz is nit feeling well. We made her a bed on the floor and she has been there ALL afternoon! Happy Halloween everyone!!

Remembering Grandma Betty

There are so many memories that keep coming to mind as I sit here thinking of grandma tonight. I am still having a hard time believing that she is gone. It just doesn't seem possible. Grandma Betty has just always been there. I know that the next time we are in Abilene it is going to feel very strange! Thank you for all of the times you bailed me out of my speeding ticket fines and all of the great memories that you gave to me! You will be missed so much! Here are a few pictures that I was able to find tonight.. there are so many more and I am very thankful to have them.

Star of the Week

Last week Izzy was the "Star of the Week" at her school. She brought home Kacey the Kangaroo and we did a lot of things with him. He met both of her grandparents, went to Jazzercise, played with friends, went to pump it up and also Orange Leaf for some yogurt. He slept in the crib with her babies. Being "Star of the Week" is a hard job. Your parents get to bring snacks for you and your friends and also read your favorite book. Izzy picked fish cupcakes and of course the story, What was I afraid of? AKA Pale Green Pants. I loved watching all of the kids eyes while reading to them. We had a great time. A little surprise for my parents….

What a crazy weekend. On Thursday, I took Izzy up to my parents house for the weekend. On Friday, I went to Kansas City with 3 other Jazzercise instructors for a district meeting… you can imagine how fun that was. When I got home, Don was sick and in bed. On Sunday morning, I woke up super early to go up to Abilene to be part of a surprise for my parents. Andy, Veronica and Maddie drove from Wyoming to spend some time with our family and Veronicas. My parents had no idea they were coming. Very proud of Izzy and Grandma Betty for not letting the secret slip. Anyway, I met them at the hospital down the street from my parents house and then we all rode in my car. They got out and ran to the back of the house. I ran inside yelling mom, dad, Izzy you will never guess what I found on the way up here! I told them it was out on the back porch and my mom said, ‘Whatever it is, it is going home with you!”

They saw them and I have never seen my parents so shocked and excited. It was so much fun. We have it on video, but my mom was still in her pj’s so I will be nice and not share the video.

We also celebrated all of the March birthdays with lots of cake! Happy Birthday, Dad, Maddie and Don!

Don is feeling a little better tonight. He ended up going to the Dr. and he now has some antibiotics. Hope he gets better soon!

Sorry about the rambling, I am getting sleepy and trying to hurry before Izzy gets up!

Tonight we went and picked up Don's new car... He loves it. It is really a nice car and on the way home from the dealership, we got 42 miles/gallon. He really likes it, can you believe that he likes it even more than his Infiniti G35? Yes, he traded that car in for a new car for me and Izzy. That was so nice of him. Anyway, the truck will be crushed here in a few weeks.... it qualified as a clunker and one of the requirements is that it is destroyed. It is really sad cause the truck actually looks brand new. I am so embarrassed to say that I forgot to write a post for my mom's birthday. I can't believe it. As I am sitting here writing this, I just realized that we didn't even have a cake for her while we were in Abilene. What is wrong with me? My mom and dad are picking Maddie up on their way back from Grand Junction... I promise I will have a birthday cake and there will be lot's of singing=) I do know that my dad and grandma took her out to dinner for her birthday and she was sung to and had dessert there... At least her birthday present made it... I am so sorry mom.. I love you and miss you everyday. Happy Late Birthday!

Last night we headed over to Vermilion one last time for the end of the year party! (At least that is what we called it) We had a great time and we even met Elmo! Next year Izzy will be going to Westlink one day a week by herself, yikes, and PAT will be moved to the high school. I think I will miss the little school, but we will have to wait and see! Ron Potts....

Not sure if we have any readers left... I am a terrible blogger! But, I think I will keep it going to help me remember things that happen. Izzy and I stay so busy that I don't always get a chance to write things down and it seems like my memory is going also.

Today started off pretty good. Izzy and I woke up and we felt pretty good. I was icky all day yesterday with another sinus infection, went to the Dr. got some medicine and feel better today. My mom called early this morning with very sad news. Ron Potts passed away. The Potts family and Murray family have been friends for many, many years. Back in January we were saddened by the news that their oldest son Jeff, passed away, and now 4 months later Ron.

I remember one time, mom, me, Susan and Ron Potts were having lunch at Burger King. I was probably 4?? Anyway, he was picking on me like he always did and I told him to look under the table... when he did I was giving him the bird. Funny thing is, I still remember the look on his face. He was a very talented man and loved trains (he had a great collection, every time I watch Stuart Little it reminds me of Ron's trains) and I know he was a great friend to my mom and dad. Please be thinking of the Potts family and my family as my parents will be leaving in the morning for Grand Junction.

He will be missed greatly... here is a picture of Ron and Susan at my wedding and Ron and I dancing!

Izzy has decided that she no longer needs a nap during the day. So, we spent 4 hours at the Zoo today. I didn't get any pictures cause I didn't want to get the camera wet... we had a great time. Just like yesterday, busy all day, bath at 7 and in bed ASLEEP by 8! Wow, what do I do with myself until my bedtime??? I do like this new routine... at least until winter!

A CIrcus Parade

Last night, Izzy, Don and I went downtown for the Shrine Circus Parade. It was Izzy's first parade. She kept her fingers in her mouth most of the time and everytime I would try and put her on the ground she would cry until I picked her up. She was not sure what was going on... when we got in the car to go home she started to talk about the parade... we had a great time!

This is Izzy today... she rode the pulley many times at gymnastics. She is turning into such a little gymnast. Front rolls, balance beams, she really does enjoy it. After gymnastics we headed off to lunch at the zoo with her buddy Jacob and met up with Ruven for a stroll! She had to keep the boys in line. Easter box, surprise visit, and Easter Egg Hunt...

Yesterday when Izzy woke up from her nap she had a box full of Easter goodies from my parents and Grandma.
Thanks to Ma, Papa and Great-Grandma Betty for all of my Easter goodies.

Yesterday afternoon we got an unexpected phone call that ended up with an unexpected visitor. My friend Hillary came to town for a short stay but it was needed by all of us. Hillary, Don and I stayed up until 2:30 this morning playing Wii and talking. When Izzy woke up she was excited to see that she was still here and took her to an Easter Egg Hunt and then lunch. Hillary is on her way to Ohio right now... we already miss you and we wish you a very safe trip... we know that you will be OK. Everything will work out!

Poor baby, she has croup... we took her to the Dr. today and she seems to be feeling better with her medicine they gave her. Now, if mom and dad can get better also... we both have a terrible cold. Today is my dad's birthday! Poor dad, we didn't get to have a birthday lunch for him, thanks to the stomach flu. At least, Dad, Izzy and I celebrated on Sunday at Sonic in Hillsboro. I can't believe that I didn't wish Maddie, Happy Birthday! We have all had the stomach flu and then to top that off... I think we all have a head cold.
Anyway, Maddie turned THREE on March 12th. We were so happy that we were able to spend a little time with them while they were in town. I am so sorry that we were sick and were not much fun. You are such a pretty girl Maddie... I love you so much and can't wait for the next time I get to see you. It was hard this time cause I could not even give you a hug... We finally have our computer set back up. Last Saturday, we bought Don a new desk for his office. It was not the smartest thing to do... he was on call last week and it was a CRAZY week for him. He actually worked almost 24 hrs straight! He was able to finish putting the desk together tonight, right before he had to go back into work. It looks so nice, he did a great job! I will hopefully get some before and after pictures of his office soon.

I believe that Izzy has officially hit her terrible two fits. I know it is about 6 months early, but I don't know how else to explain it.

Today, we went to Jazzercise and she was having so much fun she didn't want to leave. However, we had to go to gymnastics. After fighting with her for 15 minutes to put her in her car seat, we decided to go home and have lunch. I fixed her lunch and turned to get my lunch and when I turned back around her lunch was all over the floor. But, when I look at her cute little face and her silly little smile, I remember that she is just being a toddler and you are only a toddler once so she might as well enjoy it!

Thought that I would share that I passed my audition Friday night! I am now an aerobics instructor... NEVER in a million years would I have thought that would come out of my mouth... Thanks to everyone (especially Don) that have put up with JAZZERCISE talk for the past few months...I am hoping that I stop acting out Jazzercise routines in my sleep so that Don can get some rest! I teach my first full class tomorrow at 4:30, wish me luck!

Today, Izzy met her friend Maddie at the Mall. They have a new playground for toddlers. The girls had a great time... and I enjoyed chatting with Maddie's mom. Today, Izzy and I went to Hillsboro to meet her Mama G and Papa. She is going to spend a couple of nights with them. I am sure that she will have a great time... actually, when I talked to her earlier she was so busy that she really didn't say much and she really didn't care that I was on the phone. She did learn something new today.... she learned what a bunny says?!? I can't wait to see it in person when she gets home. I didn't know bunnies said anything but my mom and dad say they do and taught Izzy.

Anyway, it was a busy afternoon. I met Jodi for lunch and had a great time. We were able to talk about all kinds of things and not get interrupted by one of the girls... thanks and can't wait for the next time. I took a great picture of Jodi spinning the birthday wheel but she didn't want me to post it.... I should ask for votes and if we get a couple that say yes, I will ask her again=0

Tonight, Don took me out on a date... it has been almost three years since the day we met. We have had a busy three years haven't we? He wouldn't tell me where he was taking me. It was kind of scary when he started to head west on K-96 into the middle of no where. When we passed the last known road.... I started to get really nervous. We were so happy to hear that Maddie and Veronica were coming to town. We all went to my mom and dad's in Abilene... the girls had a ball. We gave Maddie an EARLY birthday present... backpack, matching lunch box and notebook cover. She loved it!

I am hoping that she will be able to be back in her own bed tonight... her cough seems to be gone and she is back to her crazy self.

Well, I have decided to go back to work... well, if you can call getting paid to work out work. I have been doing Jazzercise for around five years and have always loved it and thought it was a fun work out. A few months ago I was approached by the owner of the facility that I belong to , asking if I would be interested in being an instructor. What a joke... Me? No way! I would have to pass a movement screening first, so I thought... hey why not give it a shot... if you pass, it will make you feel good about yourself.. figuring there would be a small chance that I would pass. Sure enough I passed. After going back and forth for a few weeks I decided that I would go for it... if I am going to work out, might as well make a little spending money for us. I have been training since December for workshop in Oklahoma City. I get to spend a weekend there... the agenda came last night. YIKES... I don't know if I can Jazzercise for THREE days. Anyway, Friday when we get there we have an audition.... hopefully, I will pass. That way I won't have to turn around and come home all in one day. Keep your fingers crossed!

The video is our halftime performance last night at WSU. It was a lot of fun... I CAN NOT believe how young those college kids look. I felt very old sitting there... then when I had to go down in front of them... AHHHHHH. It was great, I had a ball~Enjoy and don't laugh too hard!

Great-Grandma Maxine and Isabelle

Late last night my Grandma and Izzy's Great-Grandma Maxine passed away. She had been fighting lung cancer for a very long time.

I am so thankful that Don, Izzy and I took a trip out to see her in July. It was a quick trip but we had a great time. I will always remember that trip. It was wonderful to spend that time with Grandma and to show off my Isabelle to her. Isabelle really loved her Grandma. She would follow her everywhere she went, and when she would go take a nap, Izzy would cry and cry by her door. Izzy also walked for the first time during that visit.

She was an amazing woman. She could always hike faster and further than any of us kids... she worked hard and took care of so many people.... we will miss her and we will remember her forever.

Tuesday was Izzy's last day of school for the year. We had a great time this year with everyone and have made some great friends. It is so funny to think that Izzy may be friends with these kids for a long time... I think it would be cool to be able to say that you have been friends since you were 6 months old. My family moved alot when I was younger. I hated it then but now I look back and realize all of the experiences that I had, and all of the different people that I met. I can say, that I have had one friend since the 2nd grade. Kim Malone... (of course that is not her name anymore, but I still call her that) and we still talk about once a month. Thanks for keeping in touch Kim!

Anyway, here are some pictures from her last day of school and gymnastics yesterday. She was AWESOME in gymnastics yesterday. I was so proud of her. She can walk the balance beam all by herself... she still has to have a little help from her tongue as you will see in the pictures.

Don usually does it for me, but last night he was busy helping me get the house picked up. It looked like a tornado had hit. Izzy and I ran into Walmart the other day. I had to use the restroom and didn't know what I was going to do with Izzy. She didn't want to wear shoes that day... so I hooked her to the wall... what a great thing to have!

Yesterday, Izzy and I got up and headed out for Independence, Ks.

We finally made it down to see baby Lyric and Jamie. She is such a precious little girl. She just loves to look around at the world. I could have held her ALL day. Izzy did well with her. She knew that she could look and point but she had to keep her hands to herself. She sure loves little babies.

We also saw Julie and Drake, Linda and Lucas, Shauna, and Pam. It was a great trip. I am so glad we got to see everyone... can't wait until next time!

Today Maddie, Andy and Veronica arrived. Veronica and I have been talking about their reunion for weeks now and how they were going to go crazy when they saw each other.... well, Izzy was more into the flowers and Maddie was more interested in keeping warm with her blanket. Of course as the day went by, they became friends and played for hours.

We are so happy they are here, we really don't want them to go home. Here are some pictures from the day....

Lyric was born tonight at 6:17 pm. She weighed 7.28 lbs, and is 20.5 inches long. I talked to her Grandma Pauline and she said that she is a very beautiful baby girl with black hair and blue eyes. She said that she is very alert and that everyone was doing well. I hope to have some pictures of baby Lyric tomorrow. I am so happy for you all!!!!

I am off to bed... Maddie is coming to spend two nights with us tomorrow... Izzy is already sleeping, we can't wait! I am sure this house will be full of laughs and two hyper little girls!

Weekend at Ma and Papa's

Izzy spent the weekend with her Ma and Papa and Grandma Betty in Abilene. Hearing all of the stories, Izzy not only ate well but she had a blast! I am sure that she had no rules and never heard the word "NO!"

When Don and I picked her up on Sunday, she just kind of looked at us and kept playing. I don't think she missed us one bit! We missed her and could not stop talking about her while we were gone.

Don and I went to St. Joseph, MO for two days. I had a couple of free nights at the Stoney Creek Inn, from when I was in training with American Family. It was strange going back to that hotel where I lived for 8 weeks.

I LOVE the catfish at Hoof and Horn in St. Joe... however, after driving to the Hoof and Horn we found out that it had burned down. I had been dying for catfish and was so upset. We did find out that there is a Hoof and Horn in Atchison, Ks. So, on Saturday we decided that we would go to Atchison and do some ghost hunting and eat at the Hoof and Horn. We didn't see any ghost, but we did hear a lot of stories.... and we spent the WHOLE day there. We were able to see the whole town and drove by many of the haunted places. Thanks for taking me Don!!!

this was the only house we were able to buy tickets for.

Well, Izzy has a runny nose and a cough so we have been staying in. At least the weather has been yucky so we are really not missing out on any outdoor time. I know that Izzy is going crazy... she missed school yesterday and gymnastics today.

Well, it is 3 in the morning and I am just sitting here wishing I could go back to sleep. Poor little Izzy woke up and her teeth were really hurting. She is now back in bed-thank goodness for Tylenol and warm milk.

I thought that I would share a few of my favorite pictures from the wedding. We had a really beautiful wedding, reception, and a wonderful breakfast at my parents the next morning. It was everything that I had ever dreamed of. I can't believe that it has been two years.

Since the day we met, I have always felt like I have known you my whole life... thank you for everything that you have given me. "You are my everything!" I love you!

We have had some fun the past few days! On Saturday, Izzy went over to her Grandma and Grandpa Sailing's. They gave her a pumpkin full of Halloween things. Thank you for all of her goodies, she loves them!

Yesterday, Izzy had her FIRST professional photo shoot. The first few minutes were a little rough. I didn't think that we would get any pictures of her. After a lot of jumping up and down and throwing balls, pumpkins and leaves we ended up with some great pictures. We also decided that Izzy does not like the color black. Her Halloween costume is a black cat (we love it) and she screams when she wears it. Yesterday, when they had the black background she screamed.

We stayed in today. Not just because of the rain but also because Izzy has had an upset stomach. I am pretty sure it is because of her teeth... but it was a good day to stay home!

When Izzy eats something cold, she runs to the refrigerator.

gymnastics was GREAT! I learned a lot of new things. I did my first somersault, walked and crawled on a balance beam, and even ran across a trampoline into a pit of foam blocks.

After we left, my mom took me to McDonald's for a cheeseburger and a toy. I ate the whole thing minus the bun and fries. I like to substitute fruit for fries and that way my mom can have my fries!

While I was eating I got a surprise in the mail from my Ma and Papa. Some Halloween stuff and my first sticker book. I can't wait to work on it while my mom and dad are not looking... I think some stickers will look great on the wall. Thanks for my presents....

I then took a THREE hour nap. Mom should have started me in gymnastics a long time ago.

Please mom... put me in my bed!!
